Our values

Be yourself.
Welcome others.

Five values for the way we share a community.
In every node, and in every conversation.

Freedom

Bring your own perspective.

Follow your interests, ask your questions and share what you think. Start a node for something you care about, even if it’s a little niche. There should be room to be yourself, with respect for the people around you.

Equality

Every voice deserves a fair hearing.

A thoughtful contribution matters more than a title, a background or how long someone has been here. Listen to newcomers, make space for different experiences and give people a chance to take part.

Friendliness

Talk to people like people.

Ask with curiosity, disagree with care and help someone when you can. A welcoming community is something we make together, especially when we don’t see things the same way.

Openness

Share what you know. Stay ready to learn.

Bring a discovery, explain an idea and give credit to the people who helped you get there. Welcome new perspectives and let a good conversation change your mind.

Fun

Enjoy the things that bring you together.

A community can be useful and still be playful. Follow a new interest, share something that made your day and enjoy the unexpected things you find through other people.

Put it into practice

Your interests.
Your own node.

Find people who care about what you care about. Join their conversations, or create a node and give a new community a place to start.
